“COME SEE ABOUT ME…”

Azari

Last night had to be a dream. But when I woke the next morning, the aching between my legs let me know it damn sure wasn’t. It had been a long time since I had anyone touch me. Eero was my first in two years. A bitch might as well have had cobwebs up there it had been so dried up. The last thing I expected was to fall under his spell, but when he looked at me last night, I knew what it was, and I didn’t want to deny myself the opportunity either. Rolling over in my bed, I checked the alarm clock and saw it was almost seven. Groaning at the sunlight as it began to pour through the curtains, I was too embarrassed to get out of bed and go downstairs and see him. This wasn’t supposed to happen. How the hell had this happened?

When my alarm went off, I hit snooze, rolled onto my back, and stared up at the popcorn ceiling for what seemed like forever. I heard the door to my room creak, and when I turned my head, Ehlani stood there in her pajamas with her hair all wild over her head.

“Good morning!” Her little voice greeted me, bringing me the biggest smile.

In all the chaos, I had almost forgotten that she spoke last night too.

“Good morning. What are you doing up so early?” I sat up on one of my elbows and observed her from the bed.

“I wanted to come and tell you what I want for breakfast.” She pounced on the bed beside me. “Blueberry pancakes, bacon, and eggs.”

“Mmm, that sounds amazing. I think I can do that. How about you go make sure your bed is made and room is clean. I will get ready and meet you downstairs,” I offered, and she bounced right onto the floor.

“Okay! I’ll give you twenty minutes, and then I’m coming back to check on you,” she warned, making me laugh as she skipped out of the room.

It was time to face the music. Sighing, I tossed my blankets aside and planted both feet on the floor. I damn sure couldn’t hide in here forever. What had happened was consensual anyway. It wasn’t like I was some thirsty ass girl begging him to sex me down. He wanted it just like I did. After a quick shower, I brushed my teeth and washed my face. It was getting warmer by the day which meant that spring was also on the horizon, and that was my favorite time of year in the Port. I hopped into a pair of distressed stonewash skinnies, a vintage Prince t-shirt, and a pair of white sandals with the two buckles that went across the front. Pinning my hair up, I applied a little gloss to my lips and ducked into the hallway with my cell tucked into my back pocket.

The kitchen was empty, and I hadn’t spotted Eero yet, so I was hoping he was still upstairs as I prepared breakfast for the kids.
